Priorities, resources and Political will

Govt of Pakistan has allocated RS 70 billion, or $875 million for Benazir Income Support Programme in the following year; The enrolled families are paid cash assistance of Rs.1000 per month at their doorsteps.

Instead if this amount is given to improve health, it will increase the budget of

Balochistan (at present Rs 9.78 billion)    by approx 700 % ;

KPK (at present Rs10.33 billion)               by approx 700%,
Punjab (at present Rs 18 billion)               by approx 388 % ;
Sindh (at present  Rs 49.52 billion)           by approx 100%.
                                                   

Instead if this amount is given to improve Law & order, it will increase the budget of  

Balochistan (at present  Rs13 billion)         by approx 500%;  

KPK (at present Rs. 23.3 Billion)                by approx 300%;
Sindh (at present Rs 39.30 billion)             by approx 170%;

Punjab (at present Rs 70 billion)                by approx 100%

Instead if this amount is given to improve Education, it will increase the budget of  

KPK (at present  Rs6.7 billion)                   by approx 1000%

Punjab (at present  Rs 30 billion)               by approx 233%;
Sindh (at present  Rs 111.96 billion)          by approx 60%


If this is spend on defence

58 - 43 JF 17 Block 1 can be bought, Taking Unit cost of JF 17 Block 1: US$ 15 - 20 million (estimated);

43 – 35 JF 17 Block 2 can be bought; Taking Unit cost of JF 17 Block 2: US$20–25 million;  

5 F22P Naval Frigates can be bought; Taking Unit cost of F22 P as USD $175 million;

Approx 17 FAC (M) can be bought; Taking Unit cost of PNS Azmat unit cost $ 50 million;

At least Two communication satellites can be launched

By spending Rs 70 Billion, neither the families are getting enough money to live a respectable live nor the situation in health, Education or law & order and defence is improved.

so its worth to spend this amount to improve either education, law & order, health and defence
