MOSCOW, April 10 (Xinhua) -- The volume of Russia's arms exports increased by 2 billion U.S. dollars in 2011, a leading Russian arms exporter said Tuesday.
"Last year, we exported Russian military equipment worth some 10.7 billion dollars, while in 2010 the amount is 8.7 billion dollars," said Anatoly Isaikin, director-general of state-owned Rosoboronexport.
Isaikin said Russia would continue its military-technical cooperation with those countries whose political regimes have changed.
The Rosoboronexport chief has said that persistent instability in North Africa and some other regions had generated interest in Russia-made weaponry.
Rosoboronexport is a federal enterprise acting as the sole Russian state intermediary agency for exports and imports of military and dual-purpose products, technologies and services.
