The UK aims to strengthen its diplomatic and industrial networks in emerging defence markets to consolidate its position as the world's second largest military exporter, according to Willy Hockin, director of maritime for UK defence trade body Aerospace Defence and Security (ADS).
Speaking to IHS Jane's at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Hockin highlighted the visit by UK Prime Minister David Cameron to Malaysia earlier in April, when he pledged to end the UK's "benign neglect" of its partnership with the Southeast Asian country
