Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and UK Prime Minister David Cameron will discuss the joint development of weapons systems during a meeting in Tokyo on 10 April, a Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) official told IHS Jane's on 4 April.
Such a deal would be the first since Tokyo eased its ban on arms exports in December 2011: a decision that paved the way for Japan to participate in the international joint development and production of military equipment and to authorise technology transfer
