US GAO outlines F-22 cost increases

A United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) report has found that modernisation and reliability/maintainability costs for the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor fighter have risen dramatically above the projected budget, from USD5.4 billion to USD11.7 billion.

The report, released on 2 May, also found the schedule for delivering those capabilities has slipped seven by years, from 2010 to 2017
