Delays hit Russia's fourth Borey-class submarine

The formal keel-laying and naming ceremony for Russia's fourth Project 955 Borey-class ballistic missile nuclear submarine (SSBN), which has been unofficially referred to as the Syvatitel Nikolay ( Saint Nicholas ) since work began on it in 2009, has had to be postponed. Construction has been unable to progress due to the failure of the Ministry of Defence to come to an agreement with United Shipbuilding Corporation Joint Stock Company, owner of the SevMash shipyard in Severodvinsk [first posted to http://jmr.janes.com - 29 March 2012]
