Spending cuts take toll at European and Israeli defence firms

The impact of government spending cuts across mature defence markets has been underlined by the lacklustre financial results of a series of major European and Israeli defence contractors, with warnings of "strong pressures" on military investment and "volatile macro-economic conditions". European groups EADS, Dassault, MBDA and Ruag have posted over the past week generally subdued financial results for 2011
