The US Navy (USN) has conducted a series of land-based hardware trials to gauge how an armed Northrop Grumman MQ-8B Fire Scout unmanned helicopter would operate in a shipborne environment, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) announced on 21 March. The trials, which took place at Webster Field Annex near Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River in Maryland on 7 March, are the latest steps in the navy's plans to integrate the BAE Systems Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System II (APKWS II) onto the Fire Scout under an urgent operational requirement (UOR)
