UAE could see its THAAD batteries in 2014

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) could receive its US-made Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile interceptor systems in about two years, according to industry officials. The US Department of Defense announced at the end of December 2011 that through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process it had awarded a contract to Lockheed Martin to sell two THAAD batteries and another contract to Raytheon to sell two AN/TPY-2 radar systems
