The UK's National Security Strategy (NSS) has failed to address fundamental
questions on emerging threats and shifting global alliances, a parliamentary
committee has warned. The cross-parliamentary body, which was established to
assess the effectiveness of the NSS, branded as "wholly unrealistic"
the government's claim that UK influence abroad would not diminish in the
medium to long term
